'TDP Zero, BJP 23 in AP Assembly'

'TDP Zero, BJP 23 in AP Assembly'

BJP MLC Somu Veerraju is at it again. Somu Veerraju, who is known for making controversial and attention seeking statements, stated that TDP will be zero and BJP will be 23 in AP Assembly. He said TDP's 23 MLAs would join BJP. Somu Veerraju said BJP will surely have representation in AP assembly. Somu Veerraju stated that former minister and TDP MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao has met him and discussed prevailing political situation in state. Somu Veerraju said the people are aware of the key developments taking place in the state. He said several prominent state leaders of TDP would join BJP very soon. Somu Veerraju said that BJP would soon emerge as a major force in AP.

However, Somu Veerraju's comments have come as a shocker. Given that TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu is also one among the TDP MLAs, Somu's comments seem unrealistic and impractical. Yet, Somu Veerraju's comments have kicked up a debate in TDP circles.

Recently, TDP MLA from Gannavaram Vallabhaneni Vamsi has submited his resignation and speculations are rife that he would join YCP in a couple of months. In this backdrop, Somu's comments come as a shocker. It needs to be seen how far Somu's comments are true given that he had made such comments earlier as well. Within party also, Somu has not got due prominence. He had aspired for state president post but it went to Kanna Lakshminarayana who jumped from Congress. So, political analysts opine that Somu is making such controversial comments only to stay in news and garner publicity. Let's see.
