Telugu NRI Falls To Death In US Climbing Accident

A 48-year-old Indian-American tech executive named Vishnu Irigireddy tragically lost his life in a climbing accident in Washington’s North Cascades Range on May 11. Vishnu was a Seattle resident, and he was the Vice President of Engineering at Fluke Corporation. Vishnu was part of a four-member climbing group that attempted to climb the North Early Winters Spire area.

The tragedy struck when the group’s anchor developed a snag due to an approaching storm during the descent, causing them to fall from a height of 400 feet into a ravine. Vishnu and two other climbers, Tim Nguyen, 38, and Oleksander Martynenko, 36, died in the mishap.

Anton Tselykh, 38, the only survivor of the four-member climbing group, miraculously regained consciousness moments after the fall and drove 64 km to find help. Tselykh, who suffered a head injury and internal bleeding, managed to inform police authorities about the mishap. The rescue team immediately reached the ravine and rushed the victims to a nearby hospital.

Vishnu was an experienced climber and was quite popular in the Seattle tech and cultural community. Family members and friends described Vishnu as an enthusiast who found purpose and happiness in nature, especially through climbing adventures. Vishnu was a leader at Fluke Corporation, which manufactures test equipment.
