After USA, Canada Turns A Nightmare For Indians ?

USA used to be the most preferred foreign destination for higher studies and lucrative jobs for Indians until Donald Trump’s administration started bringing strict immigration laws to impose heavy restrictions since last January.

Additionally, the stringent measures and tightening of procedures for acquiring Green Cards and Citizenship have further reduced the craze for US Visa in recent times.

After the US, students and job seekers usually tend to look at the neighbouring North American country, Canada, which provides quality of life and good pay for Indian professionals. Because surviving in the US turning so difficult, thousands of Indian students eyeing Canada as their new dream destination.

Canada offered easy student visas and simple pathways to work after graduation until recently. But now, that dream is also fading away. New data shows that Canada is no longer the easy option it used to be. The country has recorded a massive 60% drop in new international student arrivals.

Prime Minister Mark Carney stated that Canada has successfully taken back control of its immigration system. He said this sharp decline is a direct result of Canada’s new, strict policies aimed at cutting down the number of temporary residents.

Experts say the changes that are hitting Indian students the hardest include strict cap on number of Visas issued, tight work rules and rising cost of living. Meanwhile, the Canadian government says these changes are meant to help coming students. They want to make sure students are ready for their studies and can easily adjust to living in Canada.

Because of these new rules, getting a student visa is now much harder. Students now need to apply earlier, prove they have more money to support themselves, and submit all of their paperwork correctly.

So, it seems like most of the foreign countries are introducing strong policies to check the abuse of their immigration laws one after another after the USA started it. Because of these new rules, Indians will suffer the most without any doubt.
