Trump Effect: Washington Becomes Most Polluted City?

There is no debating the fact that United States president Donald Trump is an exemplary extremist when it comes to display of wealth and power. He has taken many radical decisions since taking charge as the President of the United States for the second term.

Incidentally, the Donald Trump effect has hit Washington very hard Saturday night as a part of the 250th anniversary celebrations.

Washington D.C. briefly became the most polluted major city in the world between 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM on Sunday, July 5, 2026, according to IQAir data.

This extreme spike in fine particle pollution followed a massive Independence Day fireworks display pushed by the Trump administration to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.

Incidentally, Donald Trump set of as many as 850,000 munitions of fireworks as a part of the United States 250th anniversary that was held grandly at the Washington DC. This is six times as much fireworks are generally used during the anniversary parade as Trump wanted to go absolutely berserk with the celebrations.

Many environmentalists and pollution activists have been publicly commenting on this matter, as they are saying that Trump should have refrained from creating so much fireworks pollution that Washington briefly became the most polluted city in the world.
