Another Indian-Origin Woman Killed Abroad By Husband

There has been a worrying rise in cases where Indian-origin women living abroad are assaulted or killed by their husbands. In the last few days, we have reported a few incidents from USA and Australia in which husbands have brutally murdered their wives and later caught by the police.

Now, another terrible murder has happened in the state of Georgia, United States. A 57-year-old Indian-origin woman named Sheetal Wrzesien was shot and killed inside her family home in Cobb County. The local police quickly arrested her 56-year-old husband Kirk Wrzesien right at the scene of the crime.

The shooting took place last Tuesday night after a huge fight between the husband and wife. When police officers arrived at the house, they first found the couple’s 23-year-old son, Jason, outside with bad gunshot wounds. The officers rushed him to a nearby hospital where he survived, but when they went inside the house, they found Sheetal dead from multiple gunshots.

Sheetal was a highly successful tech leader who had previously worked for big companies like Google and GoTo Foods. She spent her childhood growing up in India, England, and Ghana before moving to America to study computer engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Kirk Wrzesien is currently being held in jail without bail and faces major charges, including murder and illegal use of a gun. The tragic event has left the entire neighborhood in complete shock, as neighbors described the husband as a friendly man who often did yard work
