In what could be one of the biggest accusations between two leading countries in recent times, US President Donald Trump made shocking allegations against his rival nation China. He accused Beijing of stealing 220 Million voter data during 2020 Presidential elections in which Trump lost to Joe Biden.
Speaking at the White House as part of his primetime speech, Trump alleged that the Chinese government illegally obtained 220 million US voter files pertaining to the 2020 presidential election. He stated that the stolen data included highly sensitive information such as voter identities, contact details, home addresses, and political party preferences.
Trump called the alleged data breach an “unprecedented election security nightmare,” maintaining that his decision to make public the vulnerability was aimed at restoring trust by directly confronting and fixing flaws in the system rather than weakening public confidence.
What is more shocking is that Trump further alleged that some prominent and very famous group of people within the government actively suppressed and downplayed intelligence regarding China’s interference. However, he didn’t name any individual explicitly. He promised that details exposing these individuals would be made public in an upcoming release of documents.
Trump announced he has directed the FBI and the Department of Justice to look into alleged 2020 voter registration fraud in Michigan, pointing to newly declassified files involving Democratic canvassers in Muskegon.
The Chinese embassy in Washington quickly rejected the accusations. They stated that China never interferes in the internal affairs of the US.
