Adivi Sesh will be part of a series of prestigious Independence Day celebrations in New York, representing Indian pride and joining the Indian-American community in commemorating the nation’s 80th Independence Day.
The celebrations will begin on August 14, when the iconic Empire State Building will be illuminated in the colours of the Indian tricolour. Organised in association with the Federation of Indian Associations (FIA), the special ceremony will see Sesh honoured with the responsibility of performing the ceremonial lighting.
At 2 PM, Sesh will pull the ceremonial lever, lighting up the landmark in saffron, white and green. The Empire State Building’s tricolour illumination will mark a significant celebration of India’s Independence Day in the heart of New York.
The celebrations will continue on August 15 at Times Square, where Sesh will participate in the prestigious Independence Day flag-hoisting ceremony at 10 AM alongside the Consul General of India in New York.
On August 16, Sesh will further be part of the grand India Day Parade on Madison Avenue, one of the largest celebrations of Indian heritage and culture outside India.
The actor will ride on the America 250 float alongside several elected officials before taking his place at the podium to greet the nearly 55 floats participating in the parade.
With around three lakh people expected to attend, Madison Avenue will come alive with the colours of the Indian flag and the spirit of Independence Day.
