Soon, H1B Workers May Lose 60 Day Job Search Window

H1B Workers

H1B visa workers in the US may soon lose the 60 day grace period given to them after losing their jobs.

A new proposal from the US Department of Homeland Security has cleared review by a key White House office. The proposal could now be released publicly soon.

Since 2017, H1B workers have been allowed to stay for up to 60 days after their employment ends to find a new job or another sponsor.

If the new plan is implemented, this 60 day window could be removed, making it much harder for H1B workers who suddenly lose their jobs.

The move is part of several recent changes being proposed for the H 1B visa program.
