Indian Origin Couple Donates 190 Crore To US University

In a fitting gesture that demonstrates how Indian settlers show their gratitude towards USA, a couple named Anuradha and Vikas Sinha showed their benevolent side by donating 20 million dollars ( around 190 crore in indian currency ) to the University of North Texas.

The money will be used to create a new college for artificial intelligence and data science. The university is naming the institute after them to honour their massive gift.

Vikas Sinha finished his PhD from this university in 2023 and currently works as a top leader at Broadcom. Before going to America, both Vikas and Anuradha completed their civil engineering degrees at Sri Venkateswara University in Andhra Pradesh India. The couple said education gave them many big chances, so they want to pay it back.

The new Anuradha and Vikas Sinha College of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Analytics will focus on major areas like cybersecurity, data science, and health tech. It will bring students and researchers together to work on real world projects with industry partners.

This huge donation will fund six permanent funds that cover scholarships, research, and new technology labs. The couple had already helped the university in 2024 and 2025 by setting up a data science department and an innovation lab.

Vikas Sinha said artificial intelligence is changing the future very fast. He mentioned that immigrants do not just join the American dream, but they actively build it. The UNT president Harrison Keller also thanked the couple for their help in building a strong AI program.

The donation will make the University of North Texas a main center for learning high level AI skills in the United States. It will also help many international students get better opportunities and quality education in future years.
