India’s Top Diplomat Rips Into Pakistani Journalist

Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar never minces his words while responding to media queries on diplomatic issues. Many a time, his forthrightness on foreign affairs has caught the attention of the media.

In another similar incident, Jaishankar gave a sharp response to a Pakistani reporter during a media event at United Nations headquarters in New York. His strong reply has now made headlines all over.

Going into details, the minister was addressing an official press briefing along with Liberia foreign minister regarding shipping safety. Towards the end of the meeting, the Pakistani journalist suddenly interrupted the session to ask provocative question about terrorism.

The Pakistani reporter shouted from the crowd asking when will Indian government stop sponsoring terror activities inside Pakistan. Hearing the unexpected question, S Jaishankar did not hesitate and instantly replied, “A terrorist country is asking me that question. Come on”

Organizers had already informed media teams earlier that the UN event was strictly meant for basic statements without Q&A session. However, the reporter tried to interrupt the high profile conference with an unnecessary question to create drama on international camera.
