Honour To Brave Pilot – US Does It Before India!

Indian pilot Smit Machchhar, who displayed immense valour and foiled a dangerous mid air terror attack by a co-pilot of Flydubai flight last week, has now received a huge honour from the US House of Representatives. The US Congress has introduced a historic resolution to commend the pilot, who saved all passengers with his courageous fight back.

The resolution officially praised Captain Smit Machchhar, the off-duty pilots, cabin crew, and passengers who secured the flight deck under extreme stress. US lawmakers strongly condemned the mid-air attack on Flydubai Flight 1073 as a serious act of international terrorism.

The House also wished a speedy and complete medical recovery for the heroic Indian captain and other injured crew members. Surprisingly, even before the Indian government has honoured Smit, the US government has recognised the brave act and honoured. A couple of days ago, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke over phone with Smit and lauded his courage.

The US resolution called upon governments of Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates to perform a fast and complete investigation into the incident. US representatives demanded that officials keep the United States and Israeli governments fully informed about investigation findings.

Several leaders from different countries have showered praises on the Captain. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed deep gratitude, crediting the brave captain’s actions for protecting Israeli citizens on board. Crown Prince of Dubai personally visited him at the hospital.
