A Telugu origin woman with Canadian citizenship has grabbed the attention with her unique political campaigning style while trying to woo voters in the run up to the Mayor’s elections.
Dipika Damerla, a Canadian politician who is a Telugu origin lady born in Andhra Pradesh, is currently making waves after she posted a special video on social media to ask voters for support in the Mississauga mayor election.
She sang a changed version of a famous classic Bollywood song “Kya Hua Tera Wada” to tell people about her election promises. The Telugu origin politician used the old song tune to make a big promise about local money issues.
She promised to all voters that if she becomes the new mayor of Mississauga city, she will not raise property taxes for people. She shared this campaign clip online after a long heated election debate and wrote that it is a nice little palate cleanser for everyone.
Dipika Damerla is a well known Telugu origin leader in local Canadian government. Before running for mayor, she served as a city councillor in Mississauga. She also held big posts earlier in provincial government and now announced her candidacy for Mayor elections.
