USA: School Shooting Kills 5, Including 5-Year-Old Child

Unrestricted gun laws in the USA often lead to mass shootings across the country, resulting in many fatalities and injuries every year. Another horrific tragedy unfolded on Thursday as an armed man opened fire outside Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon in which 5 people were dead on the spot.

The accused opened shooting at a vehicle before barging into the school building and killing three innocent children and two adults. Multiple other victims suffered dangerous gunshot wounds and were rushed by emergency medical teams to nearby hospitals for fast surgery.

Heartbroken parents rushed to nearby churches to reunite with crying kids evacuated by rescue teams. The ruthless shooter, a teenager, was neutralised by a bystander and police officials confirmed that he was shot dead right inside the school building just minutes after first 911 emergency calls were made.

Police reports revealed that the deceased victims include three children aged 5, 8, and 11 years old, alongside one adult teacher. The bystander reportedly followed the accused into the school and shot him dead.

Cops blocked surrounding streets as forensic teams collected bullet shell casings and evidence from the school hallway. Officials say there is no longer any active threat to the surrounding neighborhood.

Authorities have not officially released the names of the young victims yet as families are still being privately notified. The identities of the culprit and the man who shot him dead are not yet revealed.

The incident comes a day after another teenager was arrested for allegedly planning a massacre at a famous Hindu temple in Chicago.
