UK: Indian Students Face ‘Go Home’ Threats During Evening Walk

There has been an alarming rise in hate campaigns and racial abuse against Indians in western countries in recent times. Quite often, some fringe group activists have been targeting Indians in countries like USA and Canada. Now, the hate seems to have spread to Europe as similar incidents are unfolding in the UK.

In a shocking incident,  three young Indian students out for an evening walk were aggressively confronted by a self-styled vigilante group in Solihull, England. The group cornered the students inside Meriden Park, harshly questioned their right to live in England.

A video of this controversial confrontation rapidly went viral on social media, sparking deep worry among foreign students. In the footage, members dressed in black questioned the students why they came to the UK.

Despite one of the students explaining that he was pursuing a master’s degree and living legally for two years, the vigilantes issued ‘Go Home’ threats . They also warned the students never to return, stating this was their final warning and using abusive language to tell them to go back home.

The local police acknowledged the incident and confirmed they do not endorse such activities and those who take the law into their own hands will not be spared.

It may be noted that thousands of Indian students go to the UK every year for higher studies and job opportunities.
