Trump’s Offer: Report Fraud, Get 1% As Reward

US President Donald Trump has come up with a new plan aimed at recovering defrauded government money. Under this new plan called the Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program, common citizens who report scams can earn a financial commission of 1% on the total recovered sum.

On Tuesday, Trump announced that citizens who report financial frauds to the government are eligible for a commission if their tip-off leads to a successful mission of recovering the stolen funds after following all legal and prosecution trails.
The government plans to earmark $25 Million under this scheme.

Trump revealed that the government will pay up to a 1 percent commission on the money recovered, with maximum individual payouts reaching up to $30,000 for verified tips. The program is being managed directly by the US Department of Justice alongside a special task force led by Vice President JD Vance.

Officials say the initiative aims to encourage ordinary Americans, legal workers, and independent journalists to report frauds when they see public money being misused.

Anyone can submit details about suspected government scams through a official website set up specifically for this project. However, simply sending in a tip does not automatically guarantee that a person will get the cash reward.

Before announcing this bounty scheme, Trump awarded a $10,000 check to a young independent reporter named Nick Shirley, whose reporting helped law enforcement agencies arrest suspects and stop millions in fraudulent healthcare and education claims.

While this appears to be a welcome move, some feel that offering such incentives will lead to fake complaints that may delay investigation into genuine cases.
