A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been in the Telangana High Court against the reopening of schools and colleges in Telangana. From September 1st, the Telangana government has allowed the physical classes and this is in the wake of ‘Third Wave’ warning from the medical experts.
Private schools and colleges have welcomed this decision but parents of the kids are a bit sceptical. However, the Telangana government took the decision based on the experts’ committee recommendation and they reportedly made suggestions to the government in handling the physical classes.
The suggestions of the experts committee include Audit after the first week of functioning for transparency and safety, appointing clusters of schools to a hospital or an accredited nurse and 50 percent occupancy in schools and based on the trend, the occupancy can be pushed.
Coming to the PIL, this petition is likely to come for hearing anytime this week. The pandemic is seriously bothering the students and their parents.
