West Godavari District Collector Karthikeya Mishra is caught in a controversy for using abusive language against Tahsildhars in a review meeting on Covid-19 vaccination. Apparently Mishra was enquiring about the vaccines administered in the district based on mandal wise and unhappy with vaccination drive, Mishra chided Tahsildhars and an audio clip of this is going viral on social media.
In the audio clip, one official was reading out the number of vaccines available in respective mandals. At Yalamanchili, 1400 stocks of vaccine are available and learning this, Collector Mishra pulled up Yalamanchili Tahsildhar Narasimha Rao. “Yentha Late Aiyna Chesesta Sir,” replied Tahsildhar.
Fumed over this reply, Collector Mishra said, “Yentha Late Aiyan Yentra… Amaina Favour Chestunnava Maaku??” Issuing a warning to the Tahsildhar, Mishra added don’t forget I’m your Collector. Disconnect the call, get on to the job and report to me in one hour.
Then it was the turn of Akividu Tahsildhar. “Should I request you…?? Useless fellow,” says Collector Mishra in the audio clip. “Em Basha Ra Idi… Am I a petitioner… Bloody fellow… What non-sense this… What is this tone?” shouts Mishra again.
Well this is not the way to hold a review meeting and the Collector was clearly out of line and language. But yes his intentions were to get the vaccination done to as many people as possible at the earliest. Hope he rectifies his mistake and tones down his language a bit.
