Giving 1 chance to Jagan is touching a live wire: Naidu

TDP president and Opposition leader N. Chandrababu Naidu compared giving one chance to YCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy as the Chief Minister to touching a live wire. I warned the public of the consequences after electing Jagan as the CM during elections but they did not heed my words, he reminded.

Naidu was addressing the party cadre after YCP leaders of Kanigiri Assembly constituency joined the TDP in a large number. In my childhood, I was told about Picchi Tughlaq and now, I am witnessing Picchi Jagan, he said.

He said Tughlaq imposed tax on hair and Jagan on trash. Yes, Andhra Pradesh is under Tughlaq rule, he remarked.

I had served both as the Chief Minister and Opposition leader in united Andhra Pradesh for longest terms and now, I do not need any post. I am only worried about the future of the younger generations under Jagan’s destructive rule and lopsided policies, he said.

Touching upon allegations relating to heroin smuggling in the state, he alleged that it was happening only with the support of higher authorities. Or else, how can heroin come to Tadepalli directly from Talibans in Afghanistan, he questioned.

He said it was only Jagan Reddy liquor brands that are being sold in Andhra Pradesh. He promised of liquor prohibition during elections but now, he is taking debts on the projected income through sale of liquor in future. You will continue to booze for the next 25 years as the debt taken has to be cleared, he explained.

“Jagan thinks that he is the most clever person in the state and is putting flowers on everybody’s ears. Now, it your turn to reciprocate the same to Jagan. Each of you should take a flower and leave it on Jagan’s ears by next elections.”

Farmers are not getting remunerative prices and sand is not available in the YCP rule. Dwcra groups is my brainchild scheme but YCP leaders say that I had neglected it and it is ridiculous, he said.

The YCP leaders are taking loans worth more than the state’s assets and it will certainly spell doom, he predicted.

He said that the CM does not have the guts to question the Centre even when it reduced the Polavaram allocation to Rs 20,000 crore while in fact, it has sanction Rs 55,000 crore towards land acquisition, construction works and rehabilitation of the evacuees.

Just as the YCP leaders joined the TDP, the public also has to give a thought and elect the TDP, if they want development and a bright future for their kids, Naidu added.
