This is just the beginning: KCR sits in ‘TRS Maha Dharna’

Telangana CM KCR staged a huge protest at Indira Park against the government of India over procurement of paddy. Speaking on the occasion, KCR said this is just the beginning and he also opened up about the controversial Farm Laws for the first time.

“The policies being approached by the government of India will do a lot of damage for farmers. After the separate statehood, Telangana leaped many folds in the agriculture sector but the attitude of the government of India will do grave injustice to farmers of this region. The government of India should rethink its policies on agriculture and also withdraw the controversial Farm Laws. The Centre should also take back its proposal to fix metres for the agriculture bore-wells,” said KCR.

On the oppositions criticism questioning the ruling party staging a protest, KCR hit back and recalled a 15 year old incident. “In 2006, then CM of Gujarat, Narendra Modi sat down on a protest for 51 hours. Why did Modi do so? It is the responsibility of the government of India to ensure the states are looked after and such circumstances do not arise,” stated KCR.

Extending support to farmers in North India who are protesting ever since the controversial Farm Laws are passed in the Parliament, KCR added that we will join them and intensify the agitation in future.
