The Telangana High Court has yet again extended the stay on demolition of Telangana Secretariat. This time, the High Court made some serious comments and asked the Advocate General (AG) of Telangana government, whether they have Centre’s approval.
The reports of Pollution Control Board (PCB) and State level Environment Impact Assessment Authority were placed before two-judge panel, comprising Chief Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan and Justice B Vijayasen Reddy. After going through these reports, the court said it is not satisfied with the reports and facts are twisted in these reports.
The court asked a straight question whether environment approvals are needed for demolition. To this the assistant solicitor general informed the court that they have no information from central environment department and asked time till Monday.
Extending the stay for another 24 hours, the court added that the Centre’s response is vital here. This means the Telangana government definitely needs Centre’s help here and it will add more suspense. Will there be a twist in the tale? HC will decide it tomorrow!
