Shock To Kanna, BJP Appoints Somu Veerraju As AP Chief

In a major shock to former minister Kanna Lakshminarayana, BJP has removed him as the Andhra Pradesh state party unit president. The BJP has appointed MLC Somu Veerraju as the new state president of the party on Monday. Party’s national president JP Nadda appointed Somu Veerraju as the new president. The move has come as a shock to many.

Somu Veerraju, who hails from Katheru village in East Godavari district, has been the harshest critic of former CM Chandrababu. Somu has been waging an uncompromised war with Naidu and he always puts BJP above anything. This said to have worked in his favour. On the other hand, there have been allegations against Kanna Lakshminarayana. Both the leaders of BJP and leaders of YSRCP have been complaining against Kanna.

Earlier, Vijay Sai Reddy had openly stated that Kanna was sold for Rs 20 Crore by taking it from TDP. He had also alleged Kanna of misusing party funds allotted to the state.

In fact, Somu Veerraju was one of the most probable candidates for the AP BJP president post before as well. However, Kanna’s name had propped up in the last minute pushing him into great disappointment. In fact, Somu had disappeared for a couple of days along with his followers after the party had appointed Kanna as the president. Later, he was persuaded by some party leaders based on their promise, he had come back.

YSRCP leaders are hailing the BJP’s national party’s decision to appoint Somu Veerraju in the post. Since Kanna had been soft to TDP, YCP leaders are celebrating Somu Veerraju as the AP party president.
