Kothapalli Suspended From YCP

YCP leader Kothapalli Subbarayudu was suspended from the party. This decision was taken after the party believed that he was resorting to anti-YCP activities. His comments against Chief Whip Mudunuri Prasada Raju, after the authorities failed to carve out Narasapuram as a separate district, cost him the party post.

He alleged that Raju sold himself off to the party leadership and even went to the extent of saying that he did a wrong by assisting the latter to win as the party MLA, at a public meeting. He even hit himself with his own footwear for doing such a grave mistake. Kothapalli’s act created a flutter by drawing the attention of both the media and his party leaders.

Ahead of the 2019 general elections, Kothapalli Subbarayudu joined the YCP after being disappointed over denial of the party ticket from Narasapuram. On joining the party, he worked for the victory of Mudunuri as the MLA. Recognising his services to the party, the YCP provided him gunmen and also gave weight to his words, following intelligence reports that he has done a lot for the party. Now, security cover has been removed for Kothapalli and this led to a lot of discussion among the party cadre.
