People’s faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not faded out, according to a fresh survey. Over 66 per cent of the public in the nation endorsed him as a popular leader and wanted Modi to continue as the PM for the next term.
The survey conducted by India Today – Karvy Insights under the banner “Mood of the Nation” stated that only 8 per cent of the public were inclined towards AICC leader and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi as the ‘Next PM’ while AICC president Sonia Gandhi stood next to him garnering 5 per cent of the votes.
The report also mentioned that Union Home Minister Amit Shah secured 4 per cent votes, UP CM Yogi Adityanath got 3 per cent votes, West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi received 2 per cent votes, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray got only 1 per cent votes. Names of Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also figured in the priority list of ‘Next PM’.
The survey, which collected information from 12,021 respondents on various issues, was carried out on telephone between July 15, 2020 and July 27, 2020, in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is known to be a good orator and even political analysts of national and international reputation have endorsed this trait. Modi’s rhetoric and body language keep the audience engaged, making them forget the failures of his government, say political observers.
The same survey also gathered opinion on the ‘Popular CM’ in which AP CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy secured 3rd position while his counterpart in neighbouring TS, K. Chandrashekar Rao, landed in the 9th position.
