Buggana Calls Amaravati Farmers, ‘Real Estate Batch’

AP Finance minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy commented in a demeaning manner against Amaravati farmers who are staging a Paadayatra in support of the capital region. Buggana added that those people in Paadayatra are not farmers, they are real estate agents from Hyderabad.

Speaking on Amaravati capital row, Buggana suspected a conspiracy by the then TDP government. “In 2014 before the capital was announced, businessmen backed by Telugu Desam bought hundreds of acres of land in Amaravati region in a span of three to four months. How come they predicted that Amaravati will be declared as capital? Many people have no knowledge of many villages in Amaravati region but they bought land from farmers,” said Buggana.

On the Amaravati farmers’ Paadayatra, Buggana said that there are no locals in the Paadayatra. “People who bought lands and invested their money are doing this Paadayatra. A majority of them are from Hyderabad and real estate batch. TDP speaks in an injustice manner that just because a few people invested in Amaravati, the state government has to develop it while the people have to pay taxes. These businessmen take loans from banks and invest and why should the state government work from these places?,” asked Buggana.

Buggana insulted the Amaravati farmers who are genuinely doing Paadayatra. In fact the farmers have rejected political parties’ involvement and support fearing that their noble motive would get sidelined. Amaravati farmers are yet to react on Buggana’s ‘Real Estate Batch’ remark.
