#DelhiLiqourScam: Who Is Kanika Reddy?

Until the other day she was an enthusiastic entrepreneur. She maintained high profile contacts almost equal with Chief Minister level and she has the ability to get in touch with any Chief Minister of any state in a matter of time. All of a sudden her name appeared in the Delhi Liquor Scam which is being probed by the Enforcement Directorate. The ED suspects the involvement of private jet company JetSetGo in the liquor scam. The company is owned by Kanika Reddy.

Not only the common people, even those who have moderate acquaintances do not know about her. It is said that only VVIPs, those at the highest level know her ability and she is none other than Kanika Tekriwal Reddy.

And when it comes to her connection with the YCP MP Rajya Sabha MP Vijayasai Reddy’s family Kanika is Aurobindo Pharma director Sarath Chandra Reddy’s wife. Sarath Chandra Reddy is elder brother of Rohith Reddy, the son-in-law of Vijayasai Reddy.

Before talking about her, it is necessary to mention her achievements in a short span of time. Kanika Reddy established a company with Rs.5600 investment and it reached reportedly a turnover of Rs 500 million within ten years. Five years ago, she became the leading entrepreneur in Asia in the Forbes under thirty category. Born and brought up in a Marwari family in the town of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, Kanika established a company named ‘Jet Set Go’.

Jet Set Go is into private planes and it hires private jets for people who are filthy rich and want to travel privately to their desired destinations. If anyone wants to hire a private jet charter, her company is responsible for arranging it. It has been a dream of Kanika Reddy and she worked tirelessly for it.

Kanika Reddy was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 22 years and she overcame all the odds. She established this organization and was instrumental in creating a name for ‘Jet Set Go’ like Ola and Uber for auto and cab services.

Having done her schooling in Ooty, Kanika was an Economics graduate and has done her Diploma in Visual Communication and Design in Mumbai. She pursued her MBA in London and wanted to become a pilot. She set her ambition aside and learned about the private jet market in India which attracted her a lot.

Kanika returned to India and proposed the idea to her parents. However, Kanika’s parents were not convinced and at the same time she was diagnosed with cancer. She had undergone the treatment and defeated cancer. In 2014, Kanika landed in Delhi and floated ‘Jet Set Go.’ Her business has grown step by step and by 2020, she has eight aircrafts and 200 employees. By 2020-21, 1 lakh people travelled in 6000 flights through Kanika’s ‘Jet Set Go’ service. They offer from six seater charter flights to 18 seater flights for their client requirements.
