CPI Leader Says Jagan Targeting ‘Kammas’

The Andhra Pradesh Police department is playing hide and seek with organisers of ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ and ‘Waltair Veerayya’ pre-release events. Initially the police denied permission for Balayya’s film and later asked them to change the venue. After a lot of confusion, the police cleared the way from ‘Veera Simha Reddy’s pre-release event.

It was a similar situation for Megastar Chiranjeevi’s film. The makers zeroed upon a venue and as per the local police suggestion, the venue was changed. However the organisers are still sceptical and scared that the police might create more troubles.

This issue has taken a political turn and opposition leaders allege that AP CM Jagan led YCP government is deliberately creating hurdles for Tollywood. Communist Party of India (CPI) leader Ramakrishna alleged that Jagan is intentionally targeting the Kamma community.

“The action of police appears to be vengeful and I suspect that the Jagan government is behind this whole episode and wantedly targeting film industry people,” said RK and he added that this is the first ever cabinet with no representation of Kamma community post Independence and it shows the grave injustice being done to the community.

The Left party leader advised the Jagan government to change their attitude. “Sajjala is Reddy, Vijayasai is a Reddy, a majority of the ministers belong to Reddy community, DGP is a Reddy and advocate general in High Court also represents the same community. It’s shameful of CM Jagan to speak on social justice to all communities,” pointed out Ramakrishna.
