Revenge Begins On AP Govt Employees?

Earlier this month, the Andhra Pradesh Government Employees Association (APGEA) met AP Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan and lodged a complaint against the AP government. In their complaint, APGEA alleged that AP government withdrew Rs 500 crore from the GPF account that belongs to the employees and the state government is yet to clear the financial benefits worth Rs 12,000 crore of the employees.

Here comes the reaction from the AP government and it has served notices to APGEA asking for an explanation and also threatened to cancel its recognition. The government in its notices said that the APGEA breached Recognition of Service Association (ROSA) rules.

“There are many ways to consult the state government on the concerns of the employees. When the rules are in place, it is inappropriate on part of APGEA to meet the Governor,” stated the notices. What is noteworthy here is that the AP government in its notices, attached the statements of APGEA members made before the media after meeting the Governor.

The AP government asked the APGEA to respond to the notices in a week’s time, else it would proceed with further action for breaching ROSA rules.

In his first reaction APGEA chief Suryanarayana added that they have met AP CM Jagan, special finance secretary and cabinet sub-committee multiple times to resolve our financial concerns but there was no response from the AP government. They were left with no other option than to meet the Governor.

Suryanaryana replied that they would discuss government notices with APGEA members and decide on future action plan.
