Gannavaram garam garam: YCP Attacks TDP

In a shocking development, violence broke out in Gannavaram. Some miscreants, allegedly followers of MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi, have resorted to physical violence at TDP office in Gannavaram and damaged the property and burnt a car. Several TDP leaders, party workers and even police personnel were allegedly beaten by MLA Vamsi’s followers. An Innova car belonging to TDP was burnt by the miscreants and several other cars parked in the area were damaged.

According to reports, Vallabhaneni Vamsi’s followers were angry over criticism and comments by some TDP leaders. Since morning, Vamsi’s followers gave open threats on several social media platforms as well as made phone calls to local TDP leaders and warned them of dire consequences. But none expected such physical attack on TDP office in the Gannavaram town.

About 50 miscreants who are said to be close associates of Vallabhaneni Vamsi were involved in this violent attack. Jai Vamsi slogans were heard throughout, said onlookers. With sticks and stones, the miscreants unleashed all-round attack. Some of them teared off the TDP banners and flexis and resorted to attack on furniture inside the TDP office.

TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has responded to the incident and called it as heinous act against the spirit of democracy. Naidu asked whether AP police has shut its operations in the state and even asked whether AP police is merged into YSR Congress Party as police became mute spectators to this ghastly violence. Police have clicked pictures and recorded evidence but haven’t taken action against miscreants carrying out violence. Instead, police personnel reportedly tried to stop TDP leaders and party workers.
