After the mysterious murder of YS Vivekananda Reddy case transferred to Telangana CBI, the investigation is moving at fast pace. The CBI has summoned and questioned many people including Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy. He was probed by the CBI twice so far and he was served notices yet again.
And in a twist in the tale, Avinash Reddy filed a writ petition in Telangana High Court. He requested the court for protection from CBI’s arrest. At the same time many other matters were also explained to the court in his writ petition.
Incidentally when the CBI first called Avinash Reddy for questioning, wide spread speculations were that he might get arrested but that did not happen. When the CBI called him for the second time, the rumours gained even more prominence and so he approached the Telangana High Court to be on a safe side.
In his writ petition, the Kadapa MP requested the High Court to make audio and video recording while the CBI interrogates him. In the background of issuing notices under CrPC 160, he requested that the CBI not to arrest him. Similarly, he appealed that the entire CBI investigation be video recorded and the inquiry should be conducted in the presence of an advocate.
Simultaneously Avinash Reddy alleged that the CBI is not investigating the case transparently. “The A4 accused in Viveka’s murder, Dastagiri is scouting free and the CBI is yet to arrest him. The CBI should decline his anticipatory bail petition. The CBI is probing the case based on the testimonials by Dastagiri. Even though there are no substantial evidence against me, conspiracy is being hatched to frame me as the prime suspect,” stated the two time MP.
Further Avinash has levied accusations on the CBI officers. “The investigating officer is pressuring witnesses to give false evidence. Moreover, the investigating officer is twisting my statements that were said during my questioning,” mentioned Avinash Reddy in his writ petition.
The Telangana High Court is yet to take up this petition but there is a huge anticipation on this episode.
