Yes, KCR Forced Me To Quit YSRCP

This morning the BRS party has suspended former Khammam MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and ex-minister Jupally Krishna Rao. The BRS party cited anti-party activities by the leaders behind this suspension. Naturally this suspension invited strong reactions from Ponguleti and Jupally.

In his first reaction, Ponguleti thanked BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao for suspending from the party. “After I won in 2014, KTR approached me hundreds of times and acknowledged the presence of YSR Congress party in Telangana. I was pressured multiple times to join BRS (formerly TRS) and then KCR forced me to quit YSRCP. But I got to know the real face of KCR within five months after joining. Despite snubbing me in 2019, I stuck to the party and worked as per the directions of KTR,” said Ponguleti.

Criticising the BRS government, Ponguleti added that he has been questioning for the past three months. “After 100 days the BRS party found the courage to suspend me but I can only laugh at my suspension because some people did not even consider me as a BRS party member. KCR was jealous that some of my followers raised slogans at my son’s wedding reception. Having seen that video, BRS leadership was unhappy with me from that day. And in 2019, when the ticket was denied to me, I did get upset but was assured a Rajya Sabha ticket. Yet again I believed and eventually was deceived,” said Ponguleti.

On Bangaru Telangana, Ponguleti stated that the decades old problems still prevail even after the bifurcation. “Only one family benefitted from Telangana formation. Farmers’ lives haven’t changed, unemployed youth are jobless and people are still reeling from many issues. Is this Bangaru Telangana?” questioned Ponguleti.

On his future political course, Ponguleti was diplomatic that he would take a call very soon. There have been reports that he might join YS Sharmila’s YSRTP but the BJP is trying to contact Ponguleti and get him into the party.
