Chiranjeevi Bloodbank Case: 1 Year Jail For Star Couple

Senior actor Rajasekhar and his wife Jeevitha have been sentenced to a 1-year jail term by the 17th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate. The court has found them guilty of making defamatory allegations against veteran actor and politician Chiranjeevi. The court’s order was passed recently and came to light on Wednesday.

The feud between Rajasekhar, Jeevitha, and Chiranjeevi dates back to the past when the couple publicly alleged that Chiranjeevi’s blood bank was involved in the illegal selling of blood donated by commoners. This serious accusation led to a defamation case being filed against them by Allu Aravind, a prominent film producer and close associate of Chiranjeevi.

After an extended legal battle that lasted for over a decade, the court has now ruled in favor of Chiranjeevi and Allu Aravind. The court has also ordered Rajasekhar and Jeevitha to pay a fine of Rs 5 lakh for making baseless allegations without any evidence to support their claims.

However, despite the jail term and the fine, the court has granted the couple immediate bail, allowing them to challenge the verdict in higher courts if they wish to do so.

The defamation case has ended a long-standing dispute between the two parties. As the case concludes, we have to see if Jeevitha and Rajasekhar further decide to prolong the same.
