YCP MLA Balineni Srinivas Reddy is proving to be lethal to the party but Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is retaining him in his coterie, for reasons unknown. Time and again, Balineni had been grabbing the headlines by expressing his dissatisfaction with the YCP leadership. It is being feared that Balineni might even kill the YCP prospects of victory in Prakasam district.
During 2019 polls, the YCP won 8 of the total 12 constituencies in the district and this time, Jagan had set a lofty goal of winning all the constituencies in the state. In such a situation, political analysts are wondering if Jagan would be able to achieve his aim.
Just because Balineni is among his one of the closest kin, Jagan Mohan Reddy would never bear with the histrionics of any party leader, given the harsh treatment to his mother and sister despite their loyalty in serving his vested interests. It is being said that Balineni is lucky that he is being spared by Jagan. Else, he would have already been dumped by the YCP boss for the frequent tantrums being thrown by him, political analysts said.
Balineni had been exhibiting his frustration caused due to differences with his brother-in-law Y.V. Subba Reddy, on the other party leaders and creating a scene in the party which had damaged the YCP’s image in the district. Now, Jagan himself has to decide in what way Balineni would be able to help him.
It is learnt that Jagan had called for Balineni and Subba Reddy to attend a meeting with him in Tadepalli on Sunday. It would be better if Jagan can put an end to the entire episode at the earliest to help the party’s prospects from deteriorating further.
