Hot Hot Telangana Assembly.. It’s Just Beginning!

The Telangana Assembly sprung into serious action with both the ruling and opposition parties taking part in meaningful discussion. The House witnessed some heated, yet logical, arguments over about commitment to the cause of separate Telangana with the ruling and opposition parties trying to outwit the other.

Unlike the previous BRS government’s rule, which lacked deliberations due to lack of a strong opposition, the Congress leaders, sitting in the ruling benches, had put forth valid arguments over why they were a better choice compared to them, even when the BRS kept stoking the Telangana sentiment.

During the last nine years of the BRS rule, when former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao made a point in the Assembly, it was soon supported and backed by his party men, for obvious reasons. With neither the BJP nor the Congress being able to win substantial number of MLA seats, their voice could not be heard and the BRS decisions prevailed.

Now, the ruling Congress made a blistering attack against the BRS, the main Opposition party, for pushing the state into debts during its nine-year rule by going on a ‘destructive mode’ by resorting to rampant corruption, while the Opposition leaders faulted the Congress for claiming to establish ‘Indiramma Rajyam’ in Telangana, which was replete with suppression and neglect towards the marginalized sections of the society.

With the ruling benches headed by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and the Opposition led by BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, the public had a chance to understand what respect and logic meant.

It is worth noting that either of the parties maintained decorum and did not stoop down to personal abuse or unparliamentary language during the discussion over the thanksgiving to the Governor’s address to both the Houses.
