Andhra Cricket Captain Insulted: PK Attacks Jagan

The feud among cricketers isn’t new. But the open war of words between cricketer Hanuma Vihari and cricket Prudhviraj is snowballing into a major controversy as there is a political touch to the whole issue. Hanuma Vihari’s resignation from the captaincy post and allegations, and counter-allegations between both parties became trending news. Hanuma accused the ACA of forcing him to resign at the behest of Prudhviraj’s father who is a YSRCP corporator from Tirupati. He stated that he lost his self-respect and vowed not to play for Andhra again. This became a huge talking point on social media platforms.

Raising this issue, Pawan Kalyan extended his full support to Hanuma Vihari and stated his career stats along with an old picture where Vihari batted with a broken wrist showcasing his dedication and commitment to the sport.

In a direct attack against CM Jagan, Pawan questioned about spending crores on the ‘Aadudam Andhra’ program when the State Cricket Board is politically motivated and acts as per its whims and fancies. “Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, What is the point of spending crores of money in events like ‘Adudaam Andhra’ when the State Cricket Association humiliates and insults our Andhra Cricket Team Captain?” said Pawan who took to his X account.

Meanwhile, Pawan wished and hoped that Hanuma wouldn’t face such situations again next year in the new ACA hinting at the formation of a new government (TDP – Jana Sena coalition) in the state. “Dear @Hanumavihari Garu, firstly you have been a Champion Player for the State and for the Nation. We thank you for your services and for inspiring young kids and players in Andhra. All Telugu Cricket Loving People feel pained and hurt with the treatment meted out to you by our State Association and We Stand with you.”

“Last but not least, Wishing you the very best and I hope you will play for Andhra Again next year with a State Board that knows to respect and treat players with dignity,” added Pawan Kalyan in his elaborate open letter. TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu also condemned Hanuma Vihari’s forceful resignation and the whole episode, he called this as “Shame”

Meanwhile, Andhra Cricket Body also responded to the ongoing controversy. It said it received complaints from the players on Hanuma Vihari’s alleged ‘abusive behaviour’. The ACA also launched a probe against Hanuma Vihari.
