Nani Reveals Jagan’s ‘Retirement Talk’

Perni Nani is one of the most trusted associates of YSR Congress head YS Jagan and he has been with the party for over a decade. But Nani has decided to step away from active politics as he is not contesting this year’s election and instead secured the ticket for his son Perni Kittu.

When asked how Jagan reacted when he said he wanted to retire, Perni Nani made an intriguing comment. “When I said I wanted to step away from politics and lead a life without public accountability for 10 years, he asked me not to think to far ahead. Jagan said he would also retire from politics one day and asked me to wait till then so that the two of us could retire at the same time. But I wasn’t in approval and wanted to step away immediately”.

Perni added that Jagan then pressurized him 4-5 times to contest as an MP as he wasn’t finding any trustworthy candidates but my decision was made already and I conveyed I couldn’t come back.

In Perni Nani’s absence, his son Perni Kittu is contesting from Machilipatnam assembly constituency this term.
