The ‘most immediate’ government order to be implemented reads that the Chief Electoral Officer of Andhra Pradesh has informed that the Village/Warn Volunteers are not authorized to get involved in any election-related activities.
The GO reads, ‘All the Collectors & District Magistrates in the State are instructed that Village/Ward volunteers shall neither be deployed for any kind of election-related works nor shall they act as polling agents of any candidate. Any such action amounts to a violation of the ECI guidelines.
In the wake of the General Election to the Lok Sabha and AP Legislative Assembly 2024, the government passed the order to debar the Volunteers from all election matters from the days of the announcement of the election schedule.
