BRS leader and Nizamabad MLC K. Kavitha is extremely religious observing fasting and reading spiritual books even in the ED custody.
Kavitha was arrested by the ED sleuths a few days ago in connection with the involvement in the multi-crore Delhi Liquor scam.
The BJP put her arrest on hold till the Assembly elections were completed in Telangana, after the BRS lost the polls and in view of the upcoming general elections, the ED officials took her into custody only to gain political mileage, alleged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
It is learnt that Kavitha went on a fasting on Wednesday on the occasion of Ekadasi. She read Bhagavad Gita, chanted some hymns and also sat in meditation.
As part of fasting, she restricted herself and ate a few fruits.
It is learnt that Kavitha asked the authorities to fetch her some inspirational books like the biography of Dr BR Ambedkar and some other books.
This led to doubt about how could she commit a grave crime, despite believing in God firmly. Soon answers to the question also appeared on the internet that she had become a devotee only after being taken into custody by the ED sleuths. She might be praying to God to prevent her from facing the worst situation.
This evening, Kavitha is likely to meet her mother Sobha.
