Gali Merges His Party With BJP

Former minister and Kalyana Rajya Praqgati Paksha party founder Gali Janardhana Reddy merged his party with the BJP on Monday.

In Bengaluru, Janardhana Reddy and his wife Aruna Lakshmi joined the BJP in the presence of party state president Vijayendra, senior leader BS Yeddyurappa.

Speaking on the occasion, he vowed to put in all efforts to ensure the victory of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a third time. He said he would work like a BJP activist and also made it clear that he merged his party with the BJP unconditionally. “I am not expecting any position in the party,” he said.

Yeddyurappa welcomed Janardhana Reddy into the BJP. The former CM said that the BJP would secure 28 MP seats in Karnataka in the upcoming general elections. However, there is no chance of Gali securing a ticket in Lok Sabha elections.

Janardhana Reddy said he would campaign in favour of his friend B. Sriramulu. Reddy was arrested for involvement in the illegal mining case on September 5, 2011 by the CBI sleuths. Though he is out in politics on bail, Janardhana Reddy could not show his impact since then.

It is worth remembering that the apex court’s orders restricting his entry into Bellary district still hold good. The BJP is of the view that Janardhana Reddy’s joining their cadre would help strengthen the party rank and file in Bellary and Koppalla districts.
