BRS is left with a big jolt after the party’s Rajya Sabha members and senior statesman K Keshava Rao, along with his daughter Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, the mayor of GHMC were formally invited to join Congress by CM Revanth Reddy today. But interestingly, KK’s son, Viplav, who is also active in politics has decided to stay back with BRS.
On the defection of his father and sister leaving BRS, Viplav had a few interesting comments.
Viplav said ‘My father is not a child for someone to influence him. He was with Congress for 50 years and with BRS for 10 years. He is an experienced man and has a stable thought behind his political decisions. But what I can say is that he should have stayed with BRS and worked under KCR’s able leadership. Power is not permanent for any party. Congress might be in power today, but BRS will definitely bounce back.’
About his sister, Viplav said ‘BRS rightly rewarded her with a mayorship post but she still defected the party. She is saying she can help the public more if she is with the ruling party. Isn’t this a complaint against Revanth Reddy? Does she mean CM Revanth will help a public representative only if he/she is with Congress? Won’t Revanth care about the troubles and issues of public who didn’t vote for Congress?’
He was of the implication that KK leaving BRS is a mistake and he should have stayed back as the party needs experienced leaders like him in these challenging times.
