A new leg of the Andhra Pradesh election season has started with the commencement of the nomination process. The most significant nomination till now is that of Telugu Desam boss Nara Chandrababu Naidu who declared assets worth Rs 810 crore.
Naidu’s assets took a 41% jump in the last 5 years as his declared assets amounted to Rs 545 crores in 2019. As is known, the majority of these assets are in the name of Naidu’s wife Bhuvaneshwari who runs Heritage Foods.
This brings us to the question, what will be the declared assets value of the YSR Congress head and the CM of AP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy? In 2019, Jagan declared that the total assets of his family were Rs 510 crore which is a shade under Chandrababu Naidu’s declared assets.
Now that Chandrababu has declared assets amounting to Rs 810 crore, he is the richest MLA candidate from Andhra Pradesh thus far. Will this number be broken by CM Jagan through the affidavit he files for his nomination from Pulivendula? We will know the answer soon as there are media speculations that he might file his nomination on 22 April.
