AP BJP Leaders Admit Central BJP’s Lack Of Interest

After the BJP formed an alliance with the Telugu Desam and Janasena outfits, there was only one major triangular event and that was when Modi, Chandrababu, and Pawan Kalyan shared the stage at the Palnadu meeting. After that, only Chandrababu and Pawan have been carrying the electioneering duties of the triangular alliance.

After watching the recent trends, the local BJP leaders have started to admit to media houses that their central leadership, including Modi, Shah, and JP Nadda are more inclined toward the Telangana election than the AP elections.

Though AP has 25 MP seats, which is higher than what is the case in Telangana, 17, the central leadership sees Telangana as its more profitable state. BJP’s stronger footprint in Telangana and the likelihood of the saffron party winning a substantial number of seats in the Telangana general election has made this state more fruitful than AP for the BJP top guns. That is why Modi and Shah are more invested in Telangana, say remarks.

In AP, the BJP is directly contesting 6 MP seats while the majority have TDP in the contest. But whatever might be the reason, it is the responsibility of central BJP to look after their local allies as well, says an analyst.

A BJP leader who intends to be unnamed remarked that their central leadership feels they have enough star power in AP with seasoned Chandrababu and charismatic Pawan Kalyan leading the charge and that is why they are taking AP on a lighter note.

But there could be one major political event in AP, led by Prime Minister Modi which could be on May 3rd or 4th. This will be the final big-scale meeting that will have Chandrababu, Modi, and Pawan in attendance and it will come a week before the polling so this will be the final push from central BJP to their allies in AP.
