Finally Kanaka Durga Flyover Opens To Commuters

The people of Vijayawada have been waiting for years now for the Kanaka Durga and Benz circle flyovers. It was supposed to be inaugurated in September but got delayed due to multiple reasons. Finally the day has come and this morning the flyover was opened to commuters.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari along with AP CM YS Jagan inaugurated the flyover through virtual manner. The foundation stone for this flyover was laid in 2015 and it was supposed to be completed in one year time. But from the beginning the construction of flyovers was facing many hurdles.

The total cost of this flyover is Rs 502 crore and Centre has a share of Rs 355.8 crore while state’s share is Rs 146.2 crore. The total length of the flyover is 2.35 km and an 880 metres-long approach road and is built with the highest technical values, is the crown jewel of Vijayawada city.

Along with this, the Union minister Gadkari laid the foundation stone for 61 projects with an estimated cost of Rs 15,591.9 crore across the state.
