YCP MP Vijaya Sai Reddy Announces Retirement from Politics

In a significant political development, YCP Member of Parliament, Vijaya Sai Reddy, has announced his decision to step away from active politics. He revealed that he will be resigning from his Rajya Sabha seat on the 25th of January, 2025, marking the end of his political career.

Reddy clarified that he would not be joining any political party or pursuing any other official position in the future. His resignation is a personal decision, and he emphasized that there was no external pressure or influence behind his choice. He made it clear that the decision was entirely his own, without any form of coercion.

In a heartfelt message, Vijaya Sai Reddy expressed his gratitude to the YSR family, which has supported him for over four decades. “I am deeply indebted to the YS family, who have placed their trust in me across three generations,” he stated. He also extended his thanks to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for providing him with the opportunity to serve as a Rajya Sabha member twice. Reddy also expressed his eternal gratitude to Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, the late Chief Minister, who had given him the platform to reach the highest political levels.

Reddy conveyed his good wishes for Jagan Mohan Reddy’s future and expressed hope for his continued success. He highlighted his role as the party’s Parliamentary Leader, the Rajya Sabha Floor Leader, and National General Secretary, emphasizing his dedication to the party and the state over the years. “I have worked tirelessly and without any personal gain for the party and the state, bridging the gap between the central government and the state government,” he added.

He also extended his thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, for their support during his tenure, acknowledging the recognition he received in the Telugu states due to their encouragement.

Reflecting on his political journey, Reddy noted that while he had ideological differences with TDP and had often disagreed with them, his personal relations with the N. Chandrababu Naidu family remained respectful. He also mentioned that he had a longstanding friendship with Jana Sena Party leader, Pawan Kalyan.

Looking ahead, Vijaya Sai Reddy stated that his future lies in agriculture, signaling a shift away from politics. He concluded by expressing his deep appreciation for the people of his state, his friends, colleagues, and party workers who supported him throughout his career. “I extend my heartfelt thanks to every one of you for your unwavering support,” he said.
