The previous YSR Congress tenure in Andhra Pradesh was marked with a substantially high number of arrests. Virtually every week, one TDP leader or another was arrested in some sort of a police case.
It reached a peak point before the election when Chandrababu Naidu himself was jailed in a questionable case.
Now it appears to be some sort of a payback time. In this context, YSR Congress firebrand Vallabhaneni Vamsi was jailed in connection with the case related to the attack on the TDP office in 2022.
Interestingly, according to social media reports, Jagan is now stepping out and visiting the Vijayawada district jail tomorrow. He will be meeting with Vallabhaneni Vamsi on Mulakat and spend some time with him. These are the reports that are in circulation now.
Jagan had already condemned the arrest of Vamsi and said Chandrababu is determined to jail YCP leaders one way or another. We can expect him to carry a similar narrative while he customarily addresses the media after the visit to the Vijayawada jail tomorrow.
Usually, Jagan doesn’t prefer to spend much time on activities other than those that are centred entirely around him. But in view of these arrests, he had to meet the likes of Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy, Nandigama Suresh, and now Vamsi in jail.
TDP troopers are saying Jagan is perhaps getting a taste of his own medicine as he derailed TDP with arrests almost every Friday and the favour is being returned now.
