Since yesterday morning, the shocking video of YS Jagan’s car allegedly ramming into an elderly man named Singayya — resulting in his death on the spot — has sparked intense discussion on social media. The Guntur police have filed a case against Jagan and are currently investigating the incident.
In this context, a strange and controversial response has come from the YSRCP camp. Minister Ambati Rambabu appeared dismissive and unconcerned about the gravity of the incident.
“Yes, it is unfortunate that a man died. But who is this Singayya? He is a hard-core fan of YS Jaganmohan Reddy. Moreover, he is a strong supporter of our YSR Congress,” Ambati stated.
Judging by his tone and wording, Ambati seemed to suggest that the death wasn’t particularly serious — almost as if Singayya’s loyalty to Jagan somehow lessened the tragedy.
This has enraged social media users, who are now questioning Ambati: “Does being a Jagan fan mean he deserved to be crushed under his car?” The minister’s statement has been widely condemned for its insensitivity.
Interestingly, this controversy follows shortly after Ambati handed over a cheque of ₹10 lakh to Singayya’s family. However, despite the financial aid, his perceived lack of empathy during such a sensitive time has not gone down well with the public.
