Hyderabad has comparatively better roads than Bengaluru and Chennai and other South Indian Metropolitan cities. But it needs to be said that Hyderabad really needs better parking conditions across the urban pockets.
It needs to be noted that the GHMC and the Telangana government have been taking active measures to this effect, and they have now sculpted and interesting solution at the famous KBR Park, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has communicated the arrival of a new parking system at the KBR Park and here is look into the same.
GHMC is set to unveil the city’s first Smart Multilevel Rotary Parking Facility at KBR Park, which is a 72-slot automated system developed under the PPP model.
With RFID access, EV charging, full CCTV safety & smart controls, the facility aims to end roadside parking chaos, ease traffic, and make the KBR corridor more pedestrian-friendly. Operational hours: 5 AM–11 PM, the statement from the CM read.
This is a highly advanced and functional parking system that would use a rotational method which would accommodate more cars in less space and be useful in crowded areas. This is a pilot project that is coming to effect for the first time in Hyderabad and could be potentially used in other parts of the city.
Other urban areas across Hyderabad, including Gachibowli, Abids, Madhapur and others badly need such parking methods. If this new model that is being implemented that the KBR Park is successful, then other parts of the city could also be accommodating this method in the future. This is a welcome move by GHMC and Telangana government.
