The kind of untoward and irrational hate that the YSR Congress ecosystem carries toward Amaravati is beyond comprehension. It appears that this unified hostility is perfectly encapsulated by the latest statement from Ambati Rambabu.
While addressing the media today, Ambati questioned the ambitious attempt of the Indian government to build a world class capital in Andhra Pradesh, and shockingly remarked that there is no need for such a project.
“It is true that our party supported the three capitals idea, and it is equally true that Chandrababu insisted on a single capital Amaravati. But the point to be noted is that there is no need to build a world class capital in Amaravati,” Ambati said.
Adding further to this unusual argument, Ambati questioned why Andhra Pradesh even needs a capital built to world class standards. “Do we really need a capital bigger and better than Delhi? Are we so privileged that we deserve such a world class capital?” he asked.
While the NDA government is working around the clock to bring top tier investments and employment opportunities to Amaravati, the fact that YCP is questioning the need for such a capital highlights the stark ideological differences between the two camps.
The collective goal of any political party, regardless of ideology, should be the progress of the state. But that does not appear to be the case with YSR Congress, a neutral observer noted.
At a time when mega companies like Google, Infosys, and Cognizant are reportedly lining up for Amaravati along with major renewable energy players, YCP seems to be hoping for the opposite. One can only wonder why a leading party would oppose the development of a capital that could be the lifeline of the state.
“Does this mean they don’t want Andhra Pradesh to develop?” a social media user commented under Ambati’s video.
