BJP leader and Vijayawada West MLA Sujana Chowdary is drawing attention for his practical and cost conscious approach to development works in his constituency. A well known industrialist, Sujana Chowdary has been closely monitoring projects on the ground, focusing not just on execution but also on actual requirements and expenditure.
Unlike the usual practice where public representatives rely entirely on officials’ reports or requests from local leaders, Sujana Chowdary prefers to personally verify the ground reality. He prioritizes works based on real needs rather than routine proposals, ensuring that development aligns with what people actually require.
In many constituencies across the state, leaders often approve projects based solely on official estimates, leading to inflated costs and unnecessary spending. However, Sujana Chowdary has taken a different route by independently assessing costs and questioning estimates whenever required.
Recently, officials proposed a project in Vijayawada West with an estimated cost of Rs 80 lakh. Sujana Chowdary personally reviewed the proposal with his own engineers and staff and questioned the high expenditure. After a detailed assessment, he concluded that the work could be completed within Rs 40 to 50 lakh without compromising quality.
He also ensured that contractors willing to execute the project at a lower cost were selected, rejecting those who quoted higher amounts. This move not only helped reduce unnecessary spending but also protected public funds while delivering quality infrastructure.
This approach is being seen as a positive example of efficient governance. If similar methods are adopted across other constituencies, it could lead to significant savings for the government and better outcomes for the public.
