The other day, there were media reports about the possible relocation of Begumpet divisional office for revenue to the existing T Hub building in Gachibowli, which was originally intended to foster startups.
There were mixed reactions for this development as people felt it wouldn’t be a wise idea to use a startup incubator like the T Hub building like a government office as it would defeat the purpose of it.
Reportedly chief minister Revanth Reddy responded immediately to reports suggesting that government offices currently operating from rented buildings were being shifted to T-Hub.
While on an official visit to the United States, the Chief Minister spoke over the phone with Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao and issued clear instructions. He advised that government offices functioning from rented premises should be relocated to other available government buildings instead.
Revanth emphasized that T-Hub must be recognized solely as a dedicated startup center. He made it clear that no other offices should operate from T-Hub, which was established as an incubator and innovation catalyst for startups.
With this order coming from the chief minister himself, the authorities have decided not to progress with the plan to reshape T Hub as government building. It will continue to be a start-up incubator in the near future as well.
