The Tirumala Laddu controversy has now moved beyond Andhra Pradesh and entered the national spotlight. What began as a political blame game in the state turned into a heated national discussion during a prime time television debate.
During the debate, a national journalist directly questioned the YSR Congress representative about the quality of Tirumala laddus between 2021 and 2023. Instead of making political accusations, the anchor shared personal experiences.
He said the laddus during that period felt different in taste, color, and freshness. He pointed out that the Tirumala Prasadam, which usually have a longer shelf life, were reportedly going bad within four or five days. He also mentioned complaints about postal delivery laddus developing a bad smell within just two days.
The questions were sharp and emotional. The journalist asked whether the party in power at that time had ignored warning signs. He questioned why there was no public discussion if devotees were facing such issues. He even revealed that both he and his mother had personally experienced problems with the laddu quality during those years.
What stood out in the debate was the reaction from the YSR Congress spokesperson. Faced with direct and experience based questions, he appeared uncomfortable and struggled to respond clearly. There was a noticeable silence at key moments, which drew attention from viewers.
The live debate videos quickly gained traction on social media exposing the laddu scam in previous YCP tenure.
